Buyer-side toolkit · for the RFQ stage

Three AMR offers, three prices. Compare them line by line.

The AMR Vendor Offer Comparison Kit is what I use on the buyer side when a client already has offers on the table: a scoring sheet, 25 questions to ask every vendor and an RFQ template that makes the next round of offers comparable.

  • Offer scoring sheet — scope, performance guarantees, integration, service and 5-year cost
  • 25 questions to ask every vendor before you sign
  • RFQ template so the next offers come back in the same structure
  • Red flags I see most often in AMR offers

Inside

Why AMR offers are rarely comparable

  1. Different scope boundariesWho does WMS integration, Wi-Fi, safety assessment and floor work changes the price more than the robots do.
  2. Different performance assumptionsThroughput is quoted for different order profiles, routes and uptime definitions.
  3. Commissioning priced differentlySite acceptance, ramp-up support and training hours are often missing or capped.
  4. Service outside the priceSpare parts, software licences and response times decide the real 5-year cost.
